An Evening with William P. Barr
In October 2021, the Catholic Information Center established the St. Thomas More Chair for a senior fellow with an illustrious background in the law. The inaugural holder of the chair is the Hon. William P. Barr, who has had a distinguished career in public service. He was the 77th and the 85th Attorney General of the United States, and has served in various roles in the Administrations of three presidents. Barr’s 2019 speech at Notre Dame Law School garnered enormous public attention and jump-started a national conversation about the role of religion in American civic life. To continue that conversation in the public square, William Barr—in this inaugural CIC St. Thomas More Chair lecture—examined the problems of secular morality in public education and possible solutions through expanding access to private schools.
