William P. Barr

In October 2021, the Catholic Information Center established the St. Thomas More Chair for a senior fellow with an illustrious background in the law. The inaugural holder of the chair is former Attorney General William P. Barr. General Barr has had a distinguished career in public service. He was the 77th and the 85th Attorney General of the United States. He has served in various roles in the Administrations of three presidents. He is also a former board member of the CIC. General Barr’s 2019 speech at Notre Dame Law School garnered enormous public attention and jump-started a national conversation about the role of religion in American civic life. To continue that conversation in the public square, General Barr will give a public lecture on April 27, 2022 on the relationship between religious liberty and civic education in the United States.
