G.K. Chesterton and the Catholic Mind

Wednesday, January 15, 2020

6:00 pm EST - 8:00 pm EST

Live Streamed

Description

Join us and Hillsdale College’s Dr. David M. Whalen for the second lecture of the CIC’s new Fr. James V. Schall Series, “G.K. Chesterton and the Catholic Mind.”

Dr. Whalen’s talk will explore the thought and writing of the great English man of letters, G.K. Chesterton. Specifically, he will focus on the concept of “metaphysical realism” as a common thread throughout Chesterton’s work.

The Fr. James V. Schall Lecture Series is a monthly feature of the Catholic Information’s Center’s program with speakers addressing recurring themes in Fr. Schall’s writings, such as liberal learning, the relationship between faith and reason, and great writers in the Catholic tradition.

About the Speaker

David M. Whalen, PhD, is the Associate Vice President for Curriculum and a Professor of English at Hillsdale College.
