On this Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary

In 1950, in the wake of the horrors inflicted on the human body during World War II, Pope Pius XII formally defined the dogma faith that God raised Mary, body and soul, into Heaven in the apostolic constitution, Munificentissimus Deus.
