2019 John Paul II New Evangelization Award Honoring Robert George

The CIC was proud to honor Robert P. George, McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University, with the he John Paul II New Evangelization Award on October 23, 2019.

Throughout his career, Professor George has been a fearless public witness for the Church in times of rising secularism. He has made a monumental contribution to Catholic intellectual life, remains a tireless advocate for the religious liberty of all faith traditions, and is an exemplar of the evangelical mission of the Church as envisioned by Saint John Paul II.

About the Speaker

Robert P. George is McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. He is also frequently a Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School.

In addition to his academic service, Professor George has served as Chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. He has also served on the President’s Council on Bioethics, as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, and as the U.S. member of UNESCO’s World Commission on the Ethics of Science and Technology.
