Pádraig Cantillon-Murphy
Pádraig Cantillon-Murphy obtained his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Cork before completing graduate and doctoral degrees at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He subsequently completed his postdoctoral research through concurrent appointments at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Research Laboratory of Electronics at MIT.
Professor Cantillon-Murphy met his wife, Grace, while a graduate student at MIT. They returned to Ireland to raise their family in 2010 and, dissatisfied with the state of Irish education, Grace Cantillon-Murphy began homeschooling their eight children. When their oldest was in-need, they, along with a number of other parents and the approval of their local bishop, established a new private classical Catholic academy in 2020. As an extension of this commitment to classical education, Grace Cantillon-Murphy has also developed a comprehensive homeschool programme; Mater Dei Education.
