Andrea Picciotti-Bayer
Andrea Picciotti-Bayer is Legal Advisor for The Catholic Association Foundation. Andrea’s legal career has been dedicated to civil rights advocacy. Upon completion of two successive clerkships on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Andrea began work at the United States Department of Justice in the Civil Rights Division as an Honor’s Program attorney. There she initially represented the United States in institutional reform matters involving law enforcement and programs for the developmentally disabled. She subsequently served as an appellate attorney in the Division’s Appellate Section handling a range of matters related to the enforcement of federal civil rights laws. Upon leaving the Department of Justice, Andrea moved to Colombia, South America. While there Andrea was a founding board member of the Asociación Cultural Caldense, a non-profit organization providing vocational and cultural supports for low-income women in the coffee-growing region of Colombia, and served as a Volunteer Warden for the United States Embassy in Colombia.
Andrea is a graduate of Northwestern University and Stanford Law School. She is married and has ten children.
