This lecture will explore how the genre of narrative is uniquely useful in showing the nature of true freedom. Three of Graham Green’s “Catholic novels,” The Power and the Glory (1940), The Heart of the Matter (1948), and The End of the Affair (1951) will be discussed as examples of the narrative depiction of the interplay of human freedom and divine grace.
This event was co-sponsored with the Thomistic Institute.
