Join Monsignor Charles Pope at the CIC on Friday morning, October 24, 2025 for a lecture that will defend the doctrine of hell against doubters and skeptics.
As we move closer to Halloween, ghoulishly hellish imagery abounds from Hollywood’s latests, your social platforms, and in neighborhood front yards. Despite this emphasis on hell in today’s world, there are many self-described Christians who question whether God would consign any soul to hell. Monsignor Pope will address this falsehood and the people who adopt this belief as ignoring Jesus’s teachings that instruct the exact opposite. He will also argue why hell plays a central role in God’s plan of salvation.
The morning-time talk is for those with alternative work schedules from the “normal” 9-to-5. The session will include a coffee social, and will be held in-person only.
Monsignor’s latest book, The Hell There Is: An Exploration of an Often-Rejected Doctrine of the Church, was released earlier this year and is available for purchase at the CIC’s bookstore.
October 24th Morning Schedule:
- 9:30 am: Doors open for registrant check-in. Help yourself to a cup of coffee, and find a seat.
- 10:00 am: Presentation by Monsignor Charles Pope
- 11:00 am: Lecture end. Feel free to purchase the book, and get it signed by Monsignor.
