Can a saint come from Washington, DC? Please join us as Fr. Dan Leary discusses the extraordinary life of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz. Fr. Al, as he was affectionately known to those he served, was a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington who became a missionary to serve the poor. His cause for canonization was opened in 2004 and in a major step towards sainthood, Pope Francis declared him Venerable in 2015. You can learn more about the organization he founded to care for the poor at World Villages for Children. Since his death in 1992, Fr. Al’s work has been extended to Brazil, Honduras, and Africa, in addition to the institutions he founded in Korea, the Philippines, and Mexico. Please join us to learn more about the remarkable faith and courage of this holy priest.
