Kids of all ages are invited to join us for our All Saints Training Camp on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00 am. Author Julia Harrell will read from her book, How to Be a Hero: Train with the Saints and lead us in a fun training program to help us exercise our “saint muscles.” Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase and have a book signed, as well as a chance to ask Julia questions about her book and the writing process.
Chick-fil-A reception to follow event.
About the Speaker:
Julia, author of How to Be a Hero: Train With the Saints, is a former elementary school teacher turned stay-at-home mom and freelance writer. She works in curriculum development, as well as contributing to various blogs and publications. She writes about theology, education, books, faith, and parenting.
Julia lives outside Washington, DC with her husband and young children.
“In each chapter, Harrell defines a cardinal, theological, or little virtue, gives a short biography of a saint who exemplified that virtue, and ends with a short prayer and list of questions to elicit further thought about how to apply the virtue to our own lives. The language is plain and frank and the ideas are much more challenging than you normally see in a religion book for kids…[T]he subject matter is presented simply but it’s not childish. Very pleased with this book so far. It would make a good Easter gift.” -Simcha Fisher, Author & Blogger
